Calling all consumers – yes, that’s you and me

“Be the change you want to see in the world” said Ghandi. He spoke wisdom. Those who are outraged and do nothing are as bad as those who wield the knife – the result is the same. Those who fund cruelty are as bad as those who do the deed – the result is the same. Going vegan is simple.It’s a non violent protest about the way things are for other animals. If everyone who got upset with animal cruelty went vegan, this would be a massive world shift. Don’t just be vegetarian, be vegan. Don’t just complain about dolphin killing and dog baiting – be vegan. It IS that simple.

The plight of our billions of nonhuman victims is desperate. These are sentient individuals whose most basic right – the right to own their own lives, their very own selves – is denied. Mothers, fathers, babies, brothers, sisters, friends who are enslaved, imprisoned and destined to die in fear and gore, the horrors that they face every day are beyond our worst nightmares.

What are we doing about it? You see we can all shake our heads and say how awful it is. We can cry and rage and say how we hate those that inflict the outrages we see on the videos. We can share nightmarish posts of their terror and torment. We can protest and complain.

But unless we actually change ourselves, all the noise we make is a complete waste of time. Because it’s not ‘someone else’ who’s causing the nightmare – we are. The industries that make their income from nonhuman exploitation are doing it in response…
